Boring. I could see how some women from failed relationships might like this show. Instead of taking responsibility for their own life and living by a set of ethics, the show allows four women to vent on how right they are and how wrong everyone else is. If this were a documentary the four actresses would look pretty aged in four years going at the pace they are in the show. There's nothing theoretically wrong with a lot of sex and a lot of booze, but when sex makes up 30 percent of their lives, booze another 30 percent, and the final 40 percent sitting around on their butts talking about the sex, then their personal, spiritual, and professional growth is nil. Women should be outraged. This is a put down to where women have strived to go for the past 100 years! According to this show women have evolved from "gossipy girls who's time is best spent in the bedroom and in the kitchen" to "gossipy women who's time is best spent in the bedroom and in the bars." Three of the characters (Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda played by Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon) should look at a fourth character Samantha (Kim Cattrall). This is who they will be in a couple years, if they don't die of aids or liver cancer first. Kim Cattrall became my fantasy in films like Porky's, Mannequin, and Police Academy. Oddly enough Kim Cattrall's Porky's character had more sexual ethics and her Mannequin character more intelligence. They were certainly more sexier. All of the women, who are gorgeous and sexy in real life (and their other roles) look worn, dirty, and sticky on this show, especially Kim Cattrall. Yes sticky. Given the script, the actresses have portrayed them perfectly. Do I, a young hetrosexual urban male, enjoy taking this type of woman home from a bar? Of course. Do I care to have a serious relationship with her. No. The story of these characters lives. The producers should end the show with the characters enrolling in a twelve-step program with one becoming a nun (Miranda/Cynthia Nixon), one becoming a suburban housewife (Charlotte/Christina Davis), one marrying a wealthy Senator and becoming his doting wife (Samantha/Kim Cattrall), and the fourth (Carrie/Sarah Jessica Parker) writing a best selling novel exposing all of their personal sexcapades. Now that's sex in the city. Check for other user comments.
